Description
This Victorian memorial ring by Phillips Brothers & Son, English and circa 1872, is crafted in 18kt yellow gold with black and white enamel detailing. It is set with twenty cushion-shaped old mine diamonds in open-back grain settings, totaling approximately 2.10 carats. The marquise design features a central glass-topped compartment containing intricately braided hair, complemented by a decorative gallery with graduating circular motifs and open backholing. The interior is engraved “AMY PLEWS. B. 11. JANY 1860. D. 16 AUGT 1872.”; the ring weighs 7.50 grams, is size US 6.25, and is not resizable.
