This Marcus & Co. necklace, crafted between 1904 and 1913, showcases the elegance of Art Nouveau design with its intricate plique-à-jour enamel work in pale green hues. The piece features cabochon peridots and pearls set in 18kt gold, complemented by festoon chains and a fringe of peridot beads and pearls. With scrolling and chased gold elements throughout, this vintage necklace reflects the innovative craftsmanship of an esteemed American firm during its peak period. A drawing of the necklace appears in the volume Chains, Necklaces, Hair Ornaments, Hat Pins, No. 2, p. 41, housed in Dartmouth's Rauner Library.
