This vintage ring from the 1980s is crafted in platinum and features an unheated natural color change sapphire that shifts from blue to purple, weighing 17.02 carats. Color change sapphires have a different color appearance in different types of light. In the sunlight (fluorescent light source) the color will appear to be blue. In an incandescent light source (evening yellow light – candle light) the sapphire will appear to be purple. In a mixed lighting situation, you will see both colors depending on the wavelength of lights that is stronger when viewing the sapphire. An AGL report accompanies the piece to confirm the quality of the sapphire.
